MEDIA ENGAGEMENTS
The Cancer Care committee of MWAN Rivers held an engagement session on 8th February 2022, with beneficiaries of the Focused Cancer Care treatment program funded by Shell Petroleum Development Company.
This meeting which was held at the Every Woman Centre Marine Base was instrumental in improving acceptance of cancer treatment for persons who were in denial.
MWAN Rivers is currently facilitating free treatment (surgery and chemotherapy) for six women diagnosed with cervical or breast cancer in Rivers State.
MWAN Rivers thanks the cancer committee led by our Immediate Past President Dr Vetty Agala and her secretary Dr Ikakita Yoko for their doggedness in seeing the success of this project.
Dr Adetomi Bademosi and DR Norah Diri were guests on TV on NTA PH and RSTV respectively where they spoke on ‘Breast Cancer’ and ‘Cancer’ to raise awareness about cancer prevention, screening and treatment as part of activities to mark World Cancer Day.
MWAN Rivers was represented at the funeral Mass of Late Mrs ANN MAYEN FRANCIS UKPEH, mother of Dr Franka Ajie at our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Creek Road Post Harcourt. 11/02/2022
