MWAN Rivers commemorates World cancer Day 2016 in collaboration with the Rivers State Ministry of Health. The maiden edition of the Rivers State World Cancer Day cancer walk. We can! I can!!

MWAN Rivers in collaboration with the Rivers State Ministry of Health commemorated the world can day, 2016 with a cancer walk from the Ministry of Health (State Secretariat) to the Isaac Boro Park where a cancer awareness talk was given and fliers distributed. The walk continued through the Braithwaite Memorial Hospital where the Honorable Commissioner for Health, Dr Theophillus Odagme gave a brief address on the theme “I CAN! WE CAN!! This brought to the fore what we can do as individuals, families, communities, organizations and Government, in order to prevent cancers and reduce its morbidity and mortality. The need for strengthening the state cancer registry was also emphasized.
