United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) New York 2016

Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria hosted a parallel session at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) with the theme MWAN, enhancing women’s health and empowerment: A tool for sustainable development. It was a very well attended and interactive session with discussions on MWAN activities in enhancing health, overcoming violence against women and girls, achieving women’s rights as well as the need for NGO collaborations. Among the panelists was one of our own, Dr Vetty Agala, the Secretary of MWAN Rivers. Special thanks goes to the Technical working group especially our own State branch President Dr. Rosemary Ogu for a well organized and suscessful CSW60 outing.
