Week 3: 7th NOV TO 13TH NOV 2021




The new leadership of MWAN Rivers State Chapter for the 2021-2023 biennum, headed by the president, Dr Omosivie Maduka held their inaugural exco retreat on the 6th of November 2021. The meeting involved talks from past leaders as well as drawing up terms of reference for the various offices and committees. The team is poised to make all necessary effort to improve service delivery by MWAN and position the association to achieve greater heights.

Dr Vetta Agala was the media personality of the week. She provided health awareness on Breast Cancer at Treasure FM on wednesday 10th November 2021.
Breast Cancer is a leading malignancy in Nigeria, and MWAN in collaboration with SPDC provides breast nand cervical cancer health education, screenig and treatment for eligible individuals.

With sadness and profound shock we annouce the sudden demise of our very dear member, Dr Efunsola Sowemimi- ilegbodu, a former National Cordinator of our great association, Past State President and recipient of Dr. irene Ighodaro prize. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

Every year, the International Community campaigns against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) from November 25 to December 10. The 16-days campaign is a strategy used to draw attention to and call for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls by individuals and organizations around the world. The theme for this year is “Organge the World: END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN NOW!” MWAN Rivers has submitted a proposal to a funding agency to carry out activities for the campaign.
