Increasing Access to Youth Friendly Health Services in Andoni LGA; a strategy to address the reproductive health needs of vulnerable, out-of- school young women in oil- producing communities in Rivers State, Nigeria

MAIN OBJECTIVES

• Reposition Primary Health Centers (PHCs) to become Youth Friendly Health Centres
• Mobilize youths to utilize the repositioned PHCs
• Evaluate the effect of these services in improving knowledge, attitude and utilization rates of health services among young people in these communities
• Leverage political support for eventual state-wide scale up

OUTCOMES

• Two PHCs providing a minimum complement of Adolescent and Youth Friendly Health Services (AYFHS)
• Two PHCs with comprehensive needs assessment and recommendation documents
• Staff trained to be trainers for AYFHS delivery
