World Hepatitis Day

On this day of #WHD2020, Medical women continue to advocate for a #HepatitisFreeFuture by scaling up screening of pregnant women for Hepatitis and immunizing newborns with the Hepatitis B vaccine. With our collective efforts, a Hepatitis free future will be a reality.

The commemoration of the World Hepatitis day was successfully carried out by the Outreach committee in collaboration with the Rivers State Ministry of Health, Rivers State Primary Healthcare Management Board and Hepatitis Safeguard Foundation.

The event took place at the MWAN Every Woman’s Center. Health education on the importance of screening and vaccination for Hepatitis B and C was carried out. 52 low cadre health workers in various health centers in phalga were screened and vaccinated.

Medical women present were the President Dr Vetty Agala, State Co-ordinator and Secretary, Dr Ireju Ajie, Outreach Chairman, Dr. Olukunmi Ijeruh, Dr Sandra Abolo and Dr Ufuoma Edewor.
